Rules
PlayVesto is a virtual market. Everything below describes the intended game; several values are still being decided and are marked as such. What players can use today is described in "What is live today" and on the How to play page.
Trading
Players trade virtual team shares through continuous bids and offers. There are no auctions. When a bid and an offer cross, the execution sets the Last Trade and is added to trade history. Fractional shares are supported.
Last Trade and the Official Mark
Last Trade is simply the most recent execution. Before a team's first execution it reads "Not traded" — never a stand-in price.
The Official Mark is a separate, protected valuation used to value holdings and price entry baskets. A configured initial Mark is always labelled as a reference value, never presented as a fill. Each Mark carries a freshness status and may be shown as unavailable.
Today, holdings are valued at development references. The Official Mark policy is not yet decided.
Joining mid-season
New players always enter at the same original Starting NAV, not the current wealth of existing players. Entry is a cash portion plus equal-value team budgets divided by the server's current snapshot of Marks. Treasury transfers fill these allocations without affecting trades, volume or charts. There are no backdated dividends or appreciation.
Starting NAV, the cash/equity split and the team weights are still to be configured.
Net asset value and standings
NAV is available cash plus reserved cash plus owned shares valued at Official Marks. Paid dividends are counted once, through cash. The main standings are intended to rank absolute NAV.
Standings are not available yet.
Dividends
Dividends use record-time eligibility after activation: whoever holds the shares at the record moment receives the payment into cash.
The schedule, cutoff rules and payout values are still to be configured. Dividends are unavailable in the current NHL-themed demo season, which is trading-only.
Redemption
Shares redeem once for a fixed configured amount based on the final regular-season standing and playoff outcome. Non-qualifying teams redeem at the end of the regular season, playoff teams at verified elimination, and finalists after the final. The proposed formula is a rank payment plus a single playoff-outcome bonus.
Exact payout values and any rollover rules are undecided. Redemption is unavailable in the current NHL-themed demo season, which is trading-only.
Cash
Cash cannot be bought or withdrawn. It only moves within the game.
Leagues and naming
NHL is the first league supported, not the name of the platform. Data is organised by league, season and team so other leagues can be added later.
PlayVesto is a fictional game. Team names, icons and figures are invented placeholders with no affiliation to any real league, club or organisation.
What is live today
This is a development build. Invited accounts can be activated with a starting portfolio of virtual credits and team shares, place limit orders and see their trade history. The current season is an NHL-themed demo: team names and colours are display labels, it is not connected to real NHL results, and dividends and redemption are unavailable in it. No live sports data is connected. The separate demo view uses invented numbers.
